Can we recall Toplikar if we have to?

Okay, I just want to be on the record first in case we need to take action. I'll need to do a bit of research first but if for some reason Calvin Hayden doesn't prevail in the Johnson County Commission race for the 6th (currently too close to call) then I say we pursue a recall of the sign stealing freak and throw him out. Currently, Hayden is ahead of Toplikar by some 56 votes but I want to be prepared just in case......... They are counting provisional ballots and those are people who are typically too dumb to know where to go vote or can't remember where they registered. There are about 5,000 of them apparently. Those sound like the kind of idiots who might have voted for Toplikar.....

So here is the word to the Johnson County Commission. In the event Toplikar succeeds in surviving this sordid little incident thanks to the wonders of advance voting and you don't pull him aside and get him to resign we will work to get him removed from office via recall.....if that is possible. Frankly I don't know if it is at this point but I'll study it and figure out the petition process for recall. There must be some method of the commission policing their own member's conduct.......???? Where is an election lawyer when you need one? I wonder if they all stayed down in Miami-Dade after 2004?

I don't think we'll have any trouble getting the support we'll need to get it started. Ball is in your court Mr. Toplikar. Do the right thing because this isn't going to blow over. I want you to know that Life in SOJOCO will not let this die and we'll have lots of fun doing it. How much could we humiliate the man if he had to endure a vote and defend his actions on a stand alone recall election? Stay tuned.

As you've probably heard, the JOCO Election office certified that election today, and Toplikar lost to Hayden.

Nice blog... I'll have to poke around here a little, and add it to my blog roll so I can come back.

I was going to say, good thing ACORN doesn't care about Kansas or there might be some mystery ballots turning up in car trunks or attics, but then read the post by the Old Fart. It's going to be real interesting to see what happens in Minnesota. How could those people elect Al Franken???? I have some friends in Minn. though that are such die hard democrats, they'd vote for .. well .. Al Franken. Pathetic.

I like Old Fart, just found it the other day. Yep people in Minnesota are really strange. First Jesse Ventura and now maybe Al Franken.....

It would be great to be a blogger up there. Plenty to write about.
