Happiness is..........

Remember those Charles Schultz Peanuts books when we where little.....Happiness is.........and then a whole bunch of things like.........a warm puppy? You can buy the book at Amazon by clicking here for $5.95.

Funny how simple life seemed. I remember my mom would challenge us kids to come up with our own and we'd toss them out all the time. I guess part of the take away was staying positive and recognizing the good things is life. We'd play along for awhile and then we'd say stuff like, "Happiness is my little sister leaving me alone" and my mom would get all mad at us.

Anyway......I thought of that the other day when I was thinking about Diet Coke Lime. I remember when they discontinued it and I was sad because I'm not a big soda drinker anyway but I did really like the lime flavor and would look for it when I did grab one at QT.

So.....Happiness is Diet Coke Lime. Care to add your own?

Happiness is having your daughter pause before getting on the bus to run back with a hug you and to tell you that she loves you...

And Happiness is also having a neighbor with a snowblower

Happiness is coming home from school to the smell of homemade bread right out of the oven.

That may sound simple, but in order for there to be fresh bread for dinner, mom (and in my case also grandma) were at home, something that most children don't experience today. The house was clean, clothes were washed and brought in from the line and dinner was a special family gathering; a time when we shared the day, thanked God for our daily bread, and ate home-cooked wholesome food.

To this day my favorite food is fresh baked bread.
