Honestly.........

I really hate it when people say stuff like:

"To be honest with you..........."

"Honestly?"

"To tell you the truth.........."

No....idiot. Please......lie to me. Why do people do that? I think they really mean "I'm going to be frank with you" or I'm going to tell you something I shouldn't tell you right now but to me it always sounds like, "I usually lie to you but for this one second you will get the truth"

Does anyone else ever notice that or is it just my warped brain?

Well, to be truthful I never really gave it a second thought.

That is funny as sadly pretty true. Or it means they are lying. I attended a police academy thing and during the CID briefing they told us the ones that "swear to god or on their mother's grave" are ALWAYS lying...

How about the phrase "Let me be frank"? I don't like it when I hear my husband say "the fact of the matter is". I'd like to think that we are always discussing facts-not fiction. However,I do think my opinion is fact but that's just me.
Does honesty=facts?
